An universal fan favourite, Wilshere quit the Emirates last month after deciding not to take up the offer of a new contract at the club even after agreeing to the diminished terms and salary. The England International was not guaranteed a spot in the playing 11 for the upcoming season, therefore, Jack Wilshere left the Emirates.[spacer height=”30px”]
Jack Wilshere, 26, featured only 20 times in the Premier League last season under Arsene Wenger and would have to have his playing time significantly reduced this season after the arrival of Lucas Torreira if he had decided to stay and renew with the club as revealed by Emery in a private conversation with the midfielder. Emery also said that Wilshere’s departure was a tactical and technical decision and had nothing to do with the player’s injury problems. Well, for a start, his distribution and vision are second to none. His smaller figure means he can make penetrating runs from box-to-box and accelerate away from defenders. Having been touted for greatness, both internationally and at club-level from a very young age, some would say he hasn’t lived up to the high expectations. It’s possible he may have peaked too early. For me personally, this is a great deal for both Wilshere and West Ham. Firstly West Ham got such a talented player on a free transfer, therefore; Tony Cottee has hailed the signing of former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere as West Ham’s best signing since they brought Dimitri Payet. It’s the best decision for Jack Wilshere because he would get more playing time which wasn’t promised to him at Arsenal.[spacer height=”30px”]
For West Ham fans this transfer window looks like an exciting one after last season’s horror West Ham made big signings such as Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski for £7million, Issa Diop, and Fulham’s Ryan Fredericks on a free transfer, and now Jack Wilshere coming to the team will help them a lot.[spacer height=”30px”]
The only problem I see in this deal is for Wilshere is that Straight away he’s going to be under pressure to play a lot of football. Andy Carroll being injured and with Manuel Lanzini injured now, he’s going to be under pressure to play a lot of games and do the business. So if he fails to prove himself he is done for good.[spacer height=”30px”]
However one thing is for sure is that Jack Wilshere is an incredibly skillful and brilliant player when hes at it and for Arsenal to be letting go of a player of his talents whose been basically brought up here at the club is indeed a very risky thing to do and really hoping that it doesn’t back fire on the club.
