Unai Unery Reveals When Fans Can See Denis Suarez Get His First Start For Arsenal As Arsenal Prepare For The NLD

Denis Suarez, absence from team inexplicable

January loan signing Denis Suarez is still not ready to continue for the full 90 minutes and Arsenal must remain patient as he continues to adapt to the Premier League, according to coach Unai Emery.

The Spanish international moved to Arsenal on a loan deal, which runs till the end of the season, after having grown frustrated at the lack of opportunities at Spanish giants Barcelona.

However, since his move to the English capital, the midfielder has not seen much of first-team football either, making only two substitute appearances in the Premier League amounting to a total of only 38 minutes.

However, the 25-year-old could be in line to make his first league start when Arsenal face off vs Tottenham this weekend, after Alex Iwobi suffered an ankle injury.

But Unai Emery was quick to put brakes on expectations, insisting that Denis Suarez is still not able to play full 90 minutes.

“I am very demanding of myself to find the best performance of the players,” said Unai Emery

“I think Suarez is improving with his adaptation every day. Then his quality can give us a lot.

“I think he is not okay today to play 90 minutes, because he needs rhythm, but one positive is he can start knowing that, or he can stay on the bench and then help us.

“He is working every day, improving and knowing us. His adaptation needs time to get confidence, to know his team-mates during training and then playing matches.

“For him, all the minutes he gets are important. On Sunday [against Southampton] my idea was to play him for some minutes, but after [Stephan] Lichtsteiner’s injury I couldn’t give him those minutes”

This admission by Unai Emery has left the Gunners’ fans scratching their heads and wondering as to how much more time does Denis Suarez need given he already has had 4 weeks to settle in and prove his mettle to the team.

Emery Needs To Stop This Absolute Nonsense At Once And Start Doing Things The Right Way

Denis Suarez was signed to provide width and fluidity to the much needed Gunners midfield. However, the recent form of Arsenal players has put brakes on Suarez’s development.

During the clash vs Bournemouth, Arsenal did see Denis Suarez in action albeit for a mere 20 odd minutes or so and did put in quite an encouraging shift for the club when called upon. Up until then, Suarez had barely made an iota of an impression that could justify why Arsenal lobbied so hard for his signature but against Bournemouth you could see just how driven and passionate the Spanish winger was in his performance.

The quality of his runs, the fearless and masterful dribbles put together depicted a completely different image Denis Suarez than what we had so far seen and that is probably why he could actually earn himself a brave start right when others would least expect it.

As for Denis Suarez, it will be important opportunity for him to display his creative skills and make claims for a future permanent first-team spot.

Denis Suarez needs game-time to adapt to the Premier League and we should believe in Emery’s cautious approach towards his development, that it will eventually reap positive results at the end of the season starting with the game tonight.
