SHOCKING | United Face Goliath Battle With PSG To Keep Their £60m rated Most Valuable Player

David de Gea, Tottenham vs united

David de Gea could potentially bring an end to his eight year stint at Manchester United in favor of a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

According to reports in The Sun, De Gea is refusing to budge in his demands over a proposed new contract with United. The Spaniard is holding out for a ginormous £350,000-a-week wage packet with the extension, and feels he deserves it after so many years of consistent brilliance that has seen him win the club’s Player of the Year award an incredible four times.

United though, are hesitant to meet his demands. With Alexis Sanchez already on a massive salary, the club fear that offering yet another player an eye watering pay rise will trigger a mass demand for higher wages amongst his team-mates. Players like Paul Pogba, who is constantly being tempted by clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona, could hold the club to ransom in the future.

As a result, United are reluctant but still hoping the two parties can reach a compromise. De Gea though, might not feel as compelled sacrifice what could still be is, albeit at another club. The goalkeeper feels happy once more with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now at the helm.

Initial reports suggested that the complete turnaround of the mood within the squad and the results on the pitch had persuaded De Gea to contemplate staying. However, with PSG now willing to offer him the massive salary he desires, he might be more keen on a move to France.

The Sun go on to claim that PSG are willing to offer United a sum of £60 million for their keeper, making him the best paid keeper in the world. The Old Trafford outfit do not want to lose De Gea for absolutely nothing. Such a scenario could well occur next summer if the club and the player are not able to reach an agreement over an extension.

As a result, the Premier League giants could be forced into selling arguably their best player in the upcoming transfer window if they are to make any money whatsoever out of his departure.
