Manchester United have finally broken their win-less drought in the League by thrashing Fulham by 4-1 at Old Trafford.
It has been a really difficult season for United, and getting a win like this truly helped the team land back on their feet. Although United managed to secure a win, they were up against Fulham, who are currently at the bottom of the League table.
Here are 4 things that we learnt from this fixture:
1. Playing It Right
After facing a massive backlash for the tight defensive tactic implemented by José Mourinho, United adopted a more attacking play by going 4-3-2-1 against Fulham. This enabled the team to create a lot of chances, and the result is here to show.
During an interview, Juan Mata talked about how they were able to score more goals, create more chances and make the fans excited with their advancing play.
Unlike their other games, they kept the possession of the ball longer than Fulham, and displayed great dominance throughout the game. When it comes to attacking, it was the best performance United has given so far, which tells us that this might actually work for the Reds.
2. Dalot all the way
This list would surely be incomplete if Diogo Dalot’s incredible performance was not mentioned. This was an absolutely thrilling display by the 19-year old.
He played like the perfect right-back, providing great chances down the flanks and giving great support to the team’s attack. The number of crosses showed just how much of a full-back he is.
He was quite good defensively as well. His impressive performance has made him a fan-favourite right in his second game for the team.

3. No Pogba, No Problem?
With everyone gushing that it was the best performance by United so far, it was worth noticing that the perfect squad didn’t have their star player on the pitch.
In their fixture against Fulham, Mourinho did not feature Pogba all throughout the 90 minutes, and United still gave such a great output.
While we know that there are times where Pogba has proved his worth as an important part of the squad, this might raise questions about his importance on the pitch.
4. United back in action?
After seeing them play at Old Trafford, one could say that they are possibly going to win the League. But the problem is that they have never been consistent.
The Red Devils are set to face the League leaders in their next feature, and that is when we can say for sure if United are coming back in form. Players like Mata and Herrera are certainly stepping up in these tough times.
If every man on the pitch keeps up this good run and play exciting football all throughout the season, I don’t see a reason for us to lose at Anfield.
It was quite refreshing to watch the club play well after so long. I really hope that Mourinho implements the same strategy against Liverpool in their next fixture.
It is going to be a really important match for them as Liverpool have been undefeated in this season so far. United have to give their best performance ever if they are to defeat Liverpool on Sunday.
