After 4 seasons in North London, it looks like it’s time for Danny Welbeck and Arsenal to part ways. New manager Unai Emery is reportedly ready to offload the England International to trim the squad as he prepares to begin a new era at the club.[spacer height=”30px”]
Since arriving on 2nd September, 2014 Welbeck has managed to score a subpar 15 league goals in 80 appearances. Additionally, the 27-year-old striker is behind the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in the club’s pecking order.[spacer height=”30px”]
[spacer height=”30px”]Now would be definitely the best time to sell Welbeck and get the best possible deal as his contract is set to expire next summer. The Gunners have already secured the services of Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Matteo Guendouzi in recent weeks and Emery remains keen to add to his squad. In order to do this, it’s necessary to sell some existing players to raise funds and Welbeck looks like he’ll be heading out.[spacer height=”30px”]
The list of players Emery is reportedly willing to let go at Arsenal:
Nacho Monreal
Shkodran Mustafi
Danny Welbeck
Petr Cech
David Ospinaa
Carl Jenkinson
Lucas PerezWould you like your club to sign any of these? 🤔

[spacer height=”30px”]Injury issues and being inconsistent has haunted Danny Welbeck’s time at The Emirates. The last season for instance saw him picking up a major groin injury and drifting through a goalless run of 16 games which makes it unlikely for Emery to include Welbeck in the starting eleven.[spacer height=”30px”]
[spacer height=”30px”]Welbeck once rated as one of the most promising youngsters in English football has reached a standstill in his career with failing to score more than 10 league goals in a single season for 13 years in a row. Even being picked in the England National Team for the 2018 World Cup, Welbeck didn’t manage to score a single goal in the tournament.[spacer height=”30px”]
However, Welbeck has given some moments to be cherished by the fans. It’s almost impossible to forget him coming off the bench and scoring a 90th minute goal against Leicester City in the 2015-16 season or his goal against Manchester United last year.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Even critics have acknowledged the strength in Welbeck’s style of play such as his work-rate, pace and intelligence in following tactical command, especially after his performance in both of Manchester United’s Champions League knockout stage matches against Real Madrid in 2013. Despite being injury-prone, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believed that Danny Welbeck could still have a “dream career.“[spacer height=”30px”]
Considering the possibility of the 27-year-old English international being sold, Everton and West Ham look like possible destinations for the striker. As Marco Silva looks to overhaul the current squad, Danny Welbeck has been identified to be a prime target alongside Wilfried Zaha for The Toffees.[spacer height=”30px”]
Everton have yet to sign anyone with just over three weeks of the transfer window remaining and are also trying to shift out the expensive deadwood in the squad from last summer’s unsuccessful splurge so beginning off by signing the perfect no 9 for them is a pretty good way to start off.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Coming to West Ham, new manager Pellegrini may want to have Welbeck as a replacement for injured Andy Carroll. The British tabloid has also reported that Everton are considering making a £15m move for the 27-year-old England international forward, who earns £125,000 per week as salary, according to Football London . I believe selling Welbeck is an ideal decision as Arsenal are set to begin a new era under Emery. No doubt Welbeck has given Arsenal fans moments of joy and scored in some big games however overall he has 43 premier league goals in 206 appearances which is below par by any strikers standards for a club like Arsenal.[spacer height=”30px”]
Constant injuries and missing chances has made it difficult for the former Manchester United striker to fit in the standards of any top 6 premier league club. And it would absolutely make no point in letting Danny Welbeck go for free as his contract expires next year and Arsenal and Emery already have the likes of Aubameyang, Lacazette and Perez to be used as first team strikers.[spacer height=”30px”]
Getting 15 million pounds as reported seems more than reasonable for Arsenal as the 27 year old doesn’t seem to be a big part of the club in the future there is can be only one possible solution to the question of the England International’s future. [spacer height=”30px”]
