Will Arsenal Win Silverware in 2024

Asensio

Arsenal led the way in the Premier League for most of last season as Mikel Arteta’s young charges gunned for their first title since 2004.

However, the Gunners capitulated to allow Manchester City to surge ahead and clinch their third league title in a row on the way to winning a memorable treble.

Arteta admitted that missing out on the title would live in his memory forever at the start of this season, but said winning a trophy would go a long way to erasing those daunting memories.

Arsenal have started the new season in terrific form and currently top the table again. They have also qualified for the next round of the Champions League, topping their group.

They also have the FA Cup to fight for – a competition where they are the most successful team. The question is, will they win silverware in 2024? Let’s take a closer look.

Champions League

Arsenal finished top of their Champions League group ahead of PSV Eindhoven, RC Lens and Sevilla to move into the last-16 of the competition.

The Gunners announced their return to Europe’s elite with a 4-0 victory over PSV, before suffering a shock loss to Lens on the second matchday.

They bounced back by beating Sevilla home and away, and avenged the loss to the Ligue 1 side with a 6-0 thumping at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite a final-day draw against PSV, they finished at the summit of their group, booking their place in the next round.

They are set to face Portuguese side FC Porto in the round of 16, and are the bookmakers’ favourites to progress to the quarter finals.

Arsenal’s sizeable fan base in the UK and Ireland will undoubtedly be desperate to see them reach the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium.

They are priced at odds of 7.00 on several Irish betting apps, but are generally shorter than that with numerous leading operators in the UK.

Winning the tournament is an extremely tough ask, but an appearance in the semi-finals should not be beyond Arsenal this season.

Premier League

Arsenal are third in the league league standings after 21 games. They have won 12 matches including important victories over Manchester United and Manchester City.

Their most impressive performances came in the 5-0 demolition of Sheffield United and the 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth.

They have only lost two league games this season – both 1-0 defeats to Newcastle United and Aston Villa. The loss against Newcastle was controversial, but Villa deserved their win.

The Midlands side have emerged as unlikely title contenders this season alongside the Gunners, Liverpool and Man City.

The bookmakers still favour reigning champions Man City, but Arsenal’s odds of 3.50 to claim top spot look tempting given their current form.

Villa may struggle to last the pace, which will likely leave Arsenal in a three-way fight with Liverpool and Man City for the title.

If Arsenal can add another striker to their squad in the January transfer window, they may well end their 20-year wait to win the Premier League title.
