Let’s look at the team news as Arsenal host Newcastle United at the Emirates this weekend. The Premier League title race is starting to get really exciting, with the Gunners embroiled in a three-way race alonside Liverpool and Manchester City.
After a poor performance in Portugal in the Champions League, Arsenal are hoping to get back on track with a win over Newcastle United. The reverse fixture of this tie last year resulted in Arsenal’s first loss of the 23/24 season due to a controversial goal from Anthony Gordon. But if the Gunner’s current form is anything to go by, this game should go in Arsenal’s favor.

The Magpies on the other hand have been struggling as of late, having won only 2 of their last 5 games and sitting 8th on the table. Manager Mikel Arteta will be looking to capitalise on the Magpies’ poor form and secure another 3 points at home.
Injury/Suspension List
The teams’s injury list is a growing concern for Arteta. Gabriel Jesus is a doubt with a knee injury; both Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko are awaiting late fitness tests; Thomas Partey is still nursing his groin injury, and Fabio Vieira may make the bench.
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s side also have their fair share of injuries. Callum Wilson, Joelinton, Elliot Anderson and Nick Pope are all ruled out for the match. Alexander Isak and Fabian Schar may return to bolster the Toons’ prospects at the Emirates.
Player to Watch Out For – Anthony Gordon
Having scored 8 goals and having 7 assists this season alone (stats via Transfermarkt), and having scored the only goal in the last matchup between the 2 sides, Anthony Gordon is certainly going to be a problem for Arsenal’s defenders.

His speed will be a cause of concern for the Gunners, and so will be his technical ability. He has a knack for getting into the right position at the right time, so Ben White will have to do well to contain him. The 22-year-old winger will certainly give the North Londoners a headache.

Score Prediction:
Arsenal 2 – 1 Newcastle United
It seems like Newcastle United will not be able to defeat Arsenal this time around. The Gunners’ recent Premier League form has been superb, and the Magpies just don’t have the form to take points off them at the moment. Arteta’s men will win with goals most likely coming through Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard or Leandro Trossard.
