FIRST SIGNING CONFIRMED | Manchester United Unveil New Signing And What Fans Can Expect From This Highly Rated Star

transfer, Manchester United transfer news, Daniel James

Manchester United, who had a torrid end to the season last season are likely to start afresh this season by making a few additions to their already star-studded squad. During the Transfer window, Manchester United are linked with almost all the good players because of their financial stature and the first player likely to arrive at Old Trafford is reportedly 21-year old Welsh International Daniel James.

Daniel James enjoyed a good season with Swansea in the Championship having scored six goals and making seven assists in 39 Appearances. James is a pacy winger who can play on flanks as well as a Central Attacking Midfielder. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for Young English Players, who he thinks can be the scope of improvement and the force to be reckoned with amongst all the European teams.

After an impressive season for both Wales and Swansea in which Daniel James scored on his international debut and impressed in a thrilling FA Cup tie against Manchester City where Swansea lost 3-2 by conceding in the dying moments of the game courtesy of Aguero’s header, the winger proved that he is better off than playing in the 2nd tier of English Football.

Daniel James is believed to make his non-competitive United debut in the first game of the Reds’ pre-season tour to Australia, China and Singapore against Perth Glory on July 13. James has been included in Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad for their European Qualifiers against Croatia in Osijek on Saturday afternoon against Hungary in Budapest on Tuesday evening.

Reports earlier had emerged that Daniel James had been granted permission to travel to United’s training complex for the medical on Thursday, before heading to Liverpool airport to fly out with the Wales side. Personal terms had already been agreed last month, just the transfer fee is to be agreed with both the teams.

Now according to the latest press release via the clubs official website, we can confirm that Manchester United have officially signed Daniel James in a £15million deal with Swansea. James has signed a five-year deal with an option to extend for a further year.

The 21 year old is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing of his tenure and the Norwegian will look to usher in a new era at Manchester United with his arrival hopefully being the first of many to happen at the theatre of dreams this season.

Speaking after the unveiling, United boss briefed the media about what to expect from his new entrant and he choose to sign him :

Considering the form he is in and the efforts he is seen putting in, James surely deserves to play for the Red Devils. He would be competing for a place in the starting 11 with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood. He can be the player to add flair in United’s Attack and his ability to take on and beat defenders in 1 on 1 situation could be a major reason for him to create an impact on the Gaffer.
