Aulas Reveals What Arsenal Need To Do To Sign Aaron Ramsey Replacement

Houssem Aouar Arsenal

Houssem Aouar, the french midfielder who plays for Lyon, has attracted a lot of attention over the past few months from teams the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea due to his stellar performances in League 1 and in the Champions League with Lyon doing pretty well.

France Football reports that Unai Emery is a big fan of Aouar’s versatility and his ability to unlock defense with a killer passes which would make him the front runner for the replacement for Aaron Ramsey who is believed to most likely leave the club at the end of the season on a pre-contract deal.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, also lauded the young Frenchman during the post match press conference following Lyon’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

“Houssem Aouar is a very good player. He is incredible,

He’s always very calm with the ball at his feet, with an excellent technical quality.”

However, Lyon FC President, Jean-Michel Aulas made it clear that he had no intentions of letting go off one of his most promising players.

“A departure for Houssem Aouar? The door is totally closed for our most successful hope.

He has come from the academy and I think he is the future of Lyon.

There will be very few departures this winter. We are not planning to let the world go this summer, we want to keep our players.

The potential buyers will have to be convincing, they will have to have the right arguments and I do not see many of them at the moment.”

Having just signed a long term contract with Lyon last summer despite interest being shown for him from clubs such as Liverpool, Dortmund and Barcelona, it seems unlikely that he will be let go January. The next summer transfer window will probably be when we can expect him to move to one of the bigger clubs.

It won’t be easy for Arsenal to sign the Aouar as they will be facing a lot of competition from their rivals in the Premier League and whether or not Arsenal qualify for the Champions League next season will play a huge role in helping Aouar decide which team he wants to sign. Aouar already having declared his interest in working with Guardiola in an interview he gave the RMC.

The deal will most likely exceed the €40m mark that was quoted by many teams in the summer.
