Man United Plan to Sell Jadon Sancho, Will Accept Suitable Offers

According to recent reports, Manchester United are planning to sell Jadon Sancho this summer and will entertain reasonable offers for the winger. The Red Devils are planning a major overhaul of the squad in the upcoming transfer window and the England international is most likely to be a part of the outgoing players.

Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021 for a deal worth around £73 million. He signed on a five-year contract till 2026 with great expectations. However, his signing didn’t turn out as it was expected, and he failed to impress at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old accumulated only 12 goals and 6 assists for the Red Devils in 82 appearances (stats via Transfermarkt). He returned to Dortmund on loan in January, hoping to regain his previous form at his old club, but has failed to do so, with just 1 goal and 2 assists to his name in 8 Bundesliga appearances.

As reported by Football Insider, Manchester United want to sell Jadon Sancho in the upcoming summer transfer window. It is claimed that there can be no reconciliation with the English winger and the Red Devils are willing to accept a fair and decent offer for the player.

The Red Devils are looking to raise funds for new arrivals in the team and will have to sell assets to do so. New part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is eyeing a massive clearout at Old Trafford to rid the club of deadwood and the 23-year-old forward will be one of the many stars up for sale.

The underwhelming performance of the team this season has put Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford under threat. There is a high possibility that the INEOS chief will replace the Dutchman with a new manager in the summer if the performances do not improve drastically.

The winger moved to Dortmund this January after a fallout with the United boss. However, reports claim that United have decided to sell Jadon Sancho permanently even if the manager is changed in the summer. Moreover, the club understands that there is no way to recoup the fee paid for the player in 2021.

Jadon Sancho’s Career Highlights

Jadon Sancho was one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the world when he burst onto the scene at Man City. He had enormous potential and there was no doubt about it when he moved to the Theatre of Dreams in 2021. His stats prove it, whether it’s for the England national team or Borussia Dortmund.

The 23-year-old won the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup with the England youth team. In his first spell with Dortmund from 2017-21, Sancho won the 2019 DFL-Supercup, and the 2020-21 DFB-Pokal in which he was also the top scorer with 6 goals. His stats read 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

However, his return to England turned out to be a failure. Although there were initial glimpses of his talent, Sancho was unable to make a significant impact across his two-and-a-half years at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, he was part of the Manchester United team that lifted the Carabao Cup in 2023, ending the club’s 6-year trophy drought.
