Guendouzi And Laca To Start While Ozil Misses Out: Strongest Possible Arsenal Lineup Against Manchester United

Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester United vs Arsenal, Arsene Wenger farewell, Pogba

The Gunners travel to Manchester on Wednesday to face the Red Devils in the first Manchester United Vs Arsenal clash of the season, who currently are 8 points behind Arsenal. However, the Red and Whites have a miserable record at Old Trafford- they haven’t won there in the league since Emmanuel Adebayor sealed a late win in 2006.

Arsenal ride on the back of an impressive North London derby win against the Spurs at the Emirates. The match ended by 4-2 scoreline with a lot of drama happening during the high tension London derby.

One major change in the side for the Manchester United Vs Arsenal match would be the absence of captain: Granit Xhaka, due to his 5th yellow-card of the season vs Tottenham on Sunday. In my opinion, with Guendouzi’s impressive display against the Spurs, he would be ideal to replace the Swiss in the starting line-up.

Bernd Leno will keep his place in between the sticks. Shkodran Mustafi did limp off towards the end of the North London derby, but according to reports he is expected to be fit ahead of the Manchester United Vs Arsenal clash. Hence, Emery is most likely to go with 3 defenders at the back.

Both the wing-backs- Sead Kolasinac and Hector Bellerin have had positive influences in recent games and hence, most probably will not be changed. Lucas Torreira will partner Guendouzi in the central midfield area. Mesut Ozil may be left out of the Manchester United Vs Arsenal fixture due to back spasms.

And finally, the front 3 would include- Aubamyang on the right-wing, Iwobi on the left and Lacazette as the center forward. The French International is carrying a groin injury, but his 10/10 performance vs the Spurs makes him perfectly deserving for the place for the Manchester United Vs Arsenal game.

Aaron Ramsey, also, did play well coming on as a substitute, providing 2 assists, and even in my opinion, I think he is more effective as a substitute than in the playing 11. Such a claim is backed by his recent show such as when the Welshman scored the goal of the month for October as a substitute, provided assists vs Tottenham, etc.

Mkhitaryan was perhaps Arsenal’s worst player in the past few games. His crosses aren’t up to the mark, slow-paced, quite unlike the Mkhi we knew from Dortmund.

Manchester United’s defense will certainly be vulnerable in the Manchester United Vs Arsenal game with numerous injuries plaguing Jose Mourinho’s side. Such is the condition that Scott McTominay is the favorite to be playing in defense.

Lindelof is out with a groin problem, Young is suspended and Bailly and Smalling also have injuries. McTominay would partner up with Marcos Rojo- a United defense which Arsenal can pounce upon quite easily, especially after looking at their present run of form. The United attack consisting of Lukaku and Rashford are out of form, with only Anthony Martial as the silver lining in the dark cloud.

Hence, I expect Emery to go with a 3-4-3 formation with more emphasis on the attack. United have tied their last 2 games and certainly aren’t on their best form. We have to take the opportunity, smack goals past De Gea and extend our unbeaten run to 20 games in the Manchester United Vs Arsenal clash.
