€7.5m Rated Out-of-Favour Man United Defender Wanted by Saudi Club Al-Nassr, Reunion With Cristiano Ronaldo

Alex Telles, Manchetser United, Galatasaray, Al-Nassr

According to latest reports in Spain, Manchester United defender Alex Telles could join Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in this summer transfer window. The Brazilian could potentially link up with his former United talisman and teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Following his move from FC Porto to Manchester United in 2020 for a transfer fee of £15.4 million, Alex Telles initially showed promise. However, he fell out of favour with manager Erik ten Hag and now appears poised to depart from Old Trafford.

The Brazilian left-back joined Sevilla on a season-long loan deal at the beginning of last campaign, making a total of 38 appearances for the club in all competitions. However, his time in Spain was plagued with injuries and it is unlikely that the La Liga side will make his move permanent.

Now, as reported by Diario AS (via talkSPORT), Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr are interested in signing Manchester United full-back Alex Telles this summer. The defender could potentially be joining up with CR7 and soon be sharing a dressing room with him once again.

Meanwhile, Turkish side Galatasaray have also expressed interest in securing the 30-year-old defender’s services. However, the Spanish news outlet report that Alex Telles has a preference for joining Al-Nassr FC, given the Portuguese superstar’s presence at the club.

Player Analysis

Alex Telles is a great left-back, possessing a diverse skill set that makes him an invaluable asset on the field. His ability to deliver accurate crosses into the box stands out as one of his key strengths. The full-back has mastered the art of whipping in crosses with precision, combining speed and curl to provide his teammates with optimal opportunities to attack the ball effectively.

Beyond his prowess in crossing, the Brazilian is also a formidable defender. His speed and agility allow him to keep pace with even the quickest opponents. He displays strong tackling abilities and fearlessly engages in physical challenges when necessary. Additionally, his keen tactical awareness enables him to anticipate the movements of opposition attackers, facilitating interceptions and the disruption of enemy advances.

Moreover, his corner deliveries are consistently met by his teammates’ heads in the opposition box, making him a constant threat during set-piece situations.

Furthermore, the left-back is renowned for his remarkable work rate and stamina. He covers a significant amount of ground during matches, actively contributing to both offensive and defensive efforts of his team. The Brazilian is currently contracted with Manchester United until June 2024. The officials at Al-Nassr are willing to cover the entire salary of Alex Telles, which played a significant role in his departure from Sevilla.

Joining the Saudi club would mean the 30-year-old will play for a team that has secured qualification for the AFC Champions League for the upcoming season. However, the downside to this move is that if he decides to pursue a career in Saudi Arabia, it could potentially hinder his chances of representing the Brazil national team.
