Brentford vs Man United – Team News, Injuries & Predicted Lineup | The Red Devils Will Want to Extend Their Winning Run

Brentford vs Manchester United

Manchester United go to Brentford this weekend in a crucial Premier League tie. United are now in the sixth position in the Premier League table with 47 points from 28 matches, which is six less than fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur’s tally, and nine less than fourth-placed Aston Villa who have played one game more. Hence, the Red Devils will have to play exceedingly well in the next couple of months to be able to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.

United will play Brentford on Saturday. However, the Red Devils have a couple of key clashes lined up in the space of three days in the first week of April. They will visit Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on 4th April and then face Liverpool at home on 7th April in what should be an opportunity for the latter to exact revenge for their FA Cup quarterfinal defeat.

The Couple of Matches in the First Week of April Are Absolutely Crucial for Manchester United

If United are to overtake Tottenham and Aston Villa, they will have to play really well in the two matches mentioned above. Ideally, Erik ten Hag’s men will want to earn at least four points, if not six, from those two matches if they are to harbor any ambition of finishing inside the top four.

However, winning against Liverpool especially will not be easy. Jurgen Klopp’s men are eyeing their second league title in five years and will also want to get even with United in the number of English League titles won. Still, if Manchester United are able to come up with the kind of performance they did in the FA Cup quarterfinal, they can make it considerably tough for the Reds.

A visit to Chelsea should be easier for Ten Hag’s men as they have played well against the Blues in the recent past. Chelsea are in the lower half of the league table at the moment and have been far from satisfactory so far.

However, they might still be able to come up with something unexpected and stun Manchester United, as they have quality players in their squad. Therefore, the Red Devils will have to remain cautious against them, too.

United Will Still Have Three More Tough Matches at Least

Even after facing the double challenge of Chelsea and Liverpool, United will have at least three more tough fixtures in the league. They will still have to face Newcastle United, Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion, each of which is a dangerous team.

Each of those teams have defeated Manchester United in the first leg this season and might fancy their chances of winning against the Red Devils yet again. United simply cannot afford to lose any of these matches if they are to stake claim for a spot in the Champions League next season.

Moreover, if United perform badly against the five oppositions mentioned above, they may even also end up losing the spot in the Europa League next season. Not qualified to play continental football next season will be quite a disaster for the Red Devils and United boss, Ten Hag will likely have to bear the brunt of that.
