Arsenal are preparing to make a move for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz during the coming summer transfer window, according to the reports.
Diaz has played a crucial role for the Los Blancos this season, scoring 9 goals and providing 4 assists for the club (stats via Transfermarkt). This is the first full season of the 24-year-old for Real Madrid. Before this, he was loaned to AC Milan from 2020 to 2023.
The attacking midfielder has played one game each for both Spain and the Morrocco national team. Now, he has decided he will continue with the Morrocco side.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are having a great season under the leadership of Mikel Arteta. The club is sitting at the top of the Premier League standing. Additionally, Arteta’s boys are in the final eight of the Champions League, where they will clash with Bayern Munich.
According to Football 365, the Gunners are tracking Brahim Diaz and it seems that they are determined to bring him to the Emirates ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. Subsequently, the London club has already proposed offers for the player.
Arsenal have prepared an offer worth £60m for Diaz and are waiting for a response from the Real Madrid hierarchy. The strong effort from Arteta’s side to sign Diaz clearly shows that they want to continue to be amongst the top teams at the domestic and continental levels. The club has spent a lot to acquire players like Declan Rice, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz and they want to strengthen the squad further.

Besides lining up a deal for Real Madrid attacker Brahim Diaz, there are more players on whom Arsenal are focusing. One such player is David Raya who is currently on loan from Brentford. For the permanent transfer of the goalkeeper, the North London side has to pay £27m to Brentford. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano gave an update about the David Raya situation (via Caught Offside):
“After his Champions League heroics this week, we already know that Arsenal’s plans for next season involve buying goalkeeper David Raya permanently from Brentford,”
“Arsenal have a buy option clause in that contract, and the reality is the pact between Arsenal and Brentford was already there, but they did this as an initial loan with a buy option because of Financial Fair Play.
“Still, this summer Arsenal will pay £27m for Raya – they trust him for the present and future. He’s always been on the radar of the club as a talented goalkeeper, and so they did well to take the opportunity to get this deal done last summer. The man who made the difference to sign him – of course apart from Arteta and Edu – is the GK assistant Inaki Cana who knew him very well.”
